body in the woods

The Body in The Woods was a genuinely good book but was very slow and uninspired. The characters Alexis has found comfort with the SAR team as her mom has mental health problems. Her friend Nick is trying to prove that he can perform random acts of bravery like his dad did. Ruby is very smart but everyone else thinks she is weird. This group of friends found a body in the woods and they want to find who killed her.

The beginning of this book was very lackluster when they found the body they weren't even that freighted. In this book, there were that there were some very slow parts but they were quickly followed by the fast parts. To me the fast parts were almost too fast they moved on so quickly and anticlimactically they just passed and were lost at the end of the book, it was almost like I forgot that it happened.

The middle of the book was where most of the story happens. The character of Alexis was a big plus for the book. She offered a much more interesting story than the other characters. I especially enjoyed the end of the book it has a very big twist that offers a pleasant element of surprise.

When you hear the quote (“out in the woods, no one can hear you scream.”) I think that this quote explains the book very well. It just has a scary and eerie feel to it, just like the book is. So if you want to be always a the edge of your seat than I think that this is the book for you.
